A message from Gateway Church was just what I needed today! Pastor John Burke elaborated on his series called “How to Kill a Relationship in 30 Days.” John stressed marriages tend to lose their spark after two years of togetherness. As humans, we all have unspoken rules relateable to don’t take food that isn’t yours, wash your hands, put your shoes away, replace the toilet paper when empty, etc. When our significant other fails to meet these expectations we become let down. At times it is hard to look past the action (as little or big it may be).
Control gets the best of us! If we learned to be flexible, willing, and able – relationships in our lives could blossom. We then can let down our guard and appreciate the present. Even in difficult circumstances. A flexible foundation will last. Tranquility is beautiful! It is a daily goal of mine to let go of control and accept change. Love like there’s no tomorrow.
Below I’m sharing some photos from my first session with Kimberly. This light airy atmosphere at Kerbey Lane Villages was enchanting! Kimberly’s smile should be posted on a magazine cover… so contagious! I loved everything about this shoot. Most of all, I feel extra privileged to meet such wonderful clients!
Last week I met Aubrey for the first time. Photographers often say the first booking is the hardest. Mid-July Aubrey was actually one of the first people I reached out to arrange a photo shoot in ATX. She eagerly responded back and with no hesitation YES! Talking with Aubrey, I instantly related to her love for Austin, food, family, and friends. Her personal blog highlights good eats, fun destinations, and that cute baby boy of hers!
We started our morning at Blenders & Bowls. Each of us ordered a delicious organic smoothie bowl topped with granola and a variety of fresh fruit. It was fantastic – I will be back soon! After, we rented some Lime-S Electric Scooters and zoomed around downtown to find fun murals and restaurants. One of my favorites was Tumble 22. If you can handle the heat, this needs to be added to your date list! The restaurant serves Nashville inspired hot chicken. You soon become intrigued with cayenne pepper and their tasty homemade sauces. But don’t sweat it – there are four heat levels to choose from. So if you’re like me and only appreciates a little heat they have something for you!
After work this week, I had the pleasure of meeting Aimee – an Austin blogger living in the mix of Downtown ATX. We walked to the Seaholm Power Plant area which is full of fun restaurants, coffee hangouts, and best of all ice cream. Seriously, if you haven’t been to The Baked Bear you need to go right this second! We had a splendid photoshoot considering it was 101 degrees out!
Aimee is the sweetest human being! I learned she is a pug mommy herself and we both agreed a dog date must be arranged soon. Her outfits were absolutely adorable – she pays mind to the little details/accessories. I loved the colors she had picked out for summer. I may even have to order a dress myself!

I’m excited to share my first post with you! Last week I met Akshaya, a fashion blogger in Austin. It was a quick meet-up and honestly that’s all it took. She is a natural in front of the camera! I learned Akshaya was doing a little personal investing herself as she is a graduate of The University of Texas. Now with her free time and love for fashion – she started her own blog and Instagram page.
I was equally thrilled to try out my new Canon 5D Mark IV I received for my birthday this July (thanks to Zach). The camera does an amazing job – far behind my expectation! It’s been on my wishlist for some time and rightly so. As one of the #1 professional cameras out there…I still can’t believe I own it. It’s an investment that I’m proud to work for!
